When you plan a trip along the International Selkirk Loop, plan to go golfing. With 19 golf courses found along the byway, you will find more than just an opportunity to golf. Instead be prepared to spend much of your time immersed in the vast forests and hillsides golfing. Opportunities to play the sport abound no matter where you are on the byway. Courses can be found on both sides of the Canadian and United States border so be sure to travel the whole loop to experience all the byway has to offer.
Claimed by Canada's Inflight Magazine as an “undiscovered jewel” among Canadian courses, the Balfour Golf Course is a fantastic place to tee off. The course overlooks the mesmerizing 100-mile long Kootenay Lake in southeast British Columbia. It is a Les Furber designed course with 18 holes.
For spectacular views of Kokanee Glacier at every hole be sure to stop at Kokanee Springs Golf Resort. You will find that the course is one of Canada's finest championship 18-hole courses. Designed by Norman Woods, it can be recognized by its extensive rolling greens and long driving fairways. No matter what level you play the sport, this course is sure to keep you on your toes. If you are looking for a fun and challenging course be sure to bring your clubs to Creston Golf Club. The course is professionally designed and very well maintained. You will discover that it is playable from a number of tees ranging from 5,300 to 6,500 yards. Perhaps you want to play a tough par 3 on a 9-hole course. If so, try your swing at Salmo Golf Club. Small elevated greens give even seasoned players a challenge.

To spot an occasional moose or deer on the fairway as you golf, don't forget to stop at Priest Lake Golf Club. This public course has been expanded to a full 18 holes and offers a driving range, putting green and a restaurant. With sand, water, and forest on the course you won't be surprised to find out that Idaho's splendid Priest Lake lies nearby. Or if you want to golf on a little community course, check out the green at Ranch Club Golf Course. The course is one mile west of Priest River, Idaho and also includes a driving range and restaurant.
