Hiking Next to Chinook Scenic Byway (WA) [2]
You will especially love to hike trails in Mount Rainier National Park. Enjoy a constantly dramatic view of the mountain from one of the several trails on Mt. Rainier, such as the Naches Loop Trail. This trail is a short distance of 3.5 miles round-trip, with a gentle rise in elevation of 500 feet. The loop will take you through sweet-smelling sub-alpine meadows, fields of huckleberries in late summer and early fall, and ends with breathtaking views of Mount Rainier.
For new adventures, another option is to extend the Naches Loop Trail hike and climb the Pacific Crest Trail. If you have a few hours to spend, this 10.5-mile trail to the Three Lakes Trail is a challenging trek through fantastic countryside. You will be able to occasionally sample the still quiet of sub-alpine forests, but most of the trail winds through flowering meadows, near icy ponds and past tumbling waterfalls.
Discover some of the most fascinating views of Mr. Rainier National Park from new heights on one of the many hiking trails in the area.
