July 2, 2008 - Legends of the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway

The Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway is proud to announce a new series of professionally recorded podcasts highlighting the legends and lore of the only America’s Byway whose primary theme is a folk tale!

In these recordings, local people told stories of everything from the development of the area’s walking and biking trails to working in a resort kitchen in the 1930s to tales of famous explorers who mapped the Whitefish Chain. There’s even a true story about cows drunk on moonshine!

Woven throughout the podcasts is the burly voice of Paul Bunyan, performed in bold Bunyan-style by local voice artist, Dave Skyberg.

Listen to these wonderful byway broadcasts in one 35-minute segment or in 3 to 8 minute chunks that you can download to your desktop, iPod® or other device.
