August 19, 2008 - Celebrate the Life of Richmond Bowens on Ashley River Road

Come to Drayton Hall on the Ashley River Road and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Richmond Bowens. This event will occur on Saturday, September 20, starting at 10:30 am.

Richmond Bowens is the seventh generation descendant of enslaved people who lived and worked at Drayton Hall, and the National Trust’s greatest resource on African-American history at Drayton Hall. Come let his life story inspire you to record and preserve your family history.

This event is free with admission; reservations required.
