June 26, 2008 - Grand Opening on the Ohio and Erie Canalway

This weekend, take the Ohio and Erie Canalway to Perry, OH, where the new Canalway Center Exhibit Hall will be unveiled. The grand opening will be Sunday, June 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Exploration Gateway at 5712 12th St. NW in Perry Township.

Take in the exhibit, which highlights the history, significance and natural aspects of the canal through 11 interactive displays located throughout the 4,300-square-foot-hall overlooking Sippo Lake. The displays are designed to attract the tech-savvy younger generation, show how the canal of yesteryear has influenced our county’s growth, and encourage visitors to get outside and appreciate nature.
